Realm Fire & Security goes from strength to strength.  We specialise in providing outstanding fire and security consultancy, installation, training, and maintenance services to the Energy, Facilities Management, and SME sectors across Aberdeen and throughout the Shire. The business is also well-positioned to support any and every business looking for a competent assessor to meet their own legal fire risk assessment duty of care.

With many businesses putting employees on furlough or working staggered shifts, employers need to be aware that their fire risk assessments may now be out of date; this is also the case if companies have changed their office layout to facilitate social distancing and mitigate Covid-19 infection risks for their employees. Any change should be subject to a new fire risk assessment to ensure each business remains compliant.

Realm FS has thrived during 2020

2020 has seen Realm FS thrive and the company has been able to recruit more people, including Michael Watson, who joined Realm earlier this year as a new Business Development Executive, and Linda Davidson, who has joined as Realm’s office administrator. The engineering team has also been bolstered to meet customer demand – this includes the appointment of new apprentice Philip King, and Dean Tremain, a fire and security Engineer.  Scott Farquhar has also joined the business as our new Fire & Security Manager, and Greg Allan will be working between our sales and operational teams as a Fire & Security Estimator.

Realm FS has invested during 2020

The company has also invested in a two-storey modular building adjacent to its premises in Bucksburn, to accommodate more people. Known affectionately as The Fish Tank because of its panoramic views of the area, it was originally planned as a training centre for customers to come to attend fire assessments training and to provide additional onsite storage. The new installation has meant that Realm has been able to provide effective social distancing for all its people who are office-based and this has meant staff have felt understood and supported, with one less thing to worry about when they come into the office to work.

The storage facility it provides means that Realm is now able to be far more responsive to customer requests because engineers now have access to replacement accessories and equipment locally, rather than having to make additional journeys to the main storage depot.

Realm goes from strength tp strength

A word from our Managing Director

Commenting on how the business has grown and excelled during 2020, Managing Director Stephen Booth said,

“In 2019, we planned to invest quite substantially in the business and that proactive decision has paid dividends during what has been a challenging year for our staff and customers. In addition, the installation of the Fish Tank, and the recruitment of new skilled people joining our team, has helped to improve our productivity and also served to maintain morale, something I believe has been essential during the lockdown and as we look to 2021. I am extremely proud of all we have achieved this year, and it is entirely down to the quality of people we have, here at Realm.”
