Our client
The Property Management Company (PMC) provides an integrated property management and factoring service to thousands of residential properties throughout Scotland
Realm Fire & Security has been working with this client sine 2013 providing our services across multiple sites (in Aberdeen and the Shire) covering multiple disciplines.
Their challenge
We were contacted by the customer as they were looking to get the original 9 camera CCTV solution upgraded to provide better coverage and to also improve the quality of the video footage.
Our solution
Realm carried out a site visit with the customer to gather requirements but also to discuss possible solutions and ideas. We quoted for a 16 Camera IP system which would give the customer improved coverage and provided a detailed specification and drawings to show the customer the exact locations of the cameras.
Challenges:
- The current cable was exposed and could be easily sabotaged. We recommended that the customer should use cable protection for both internal and external cabling work.
- We also had to overcome issues with long cable lengths (and expensive civil works). We did this by using point – to – point wireless equipment.
The outcome
Our engineer installed the system as designed and on-time. On completion we walked the customer through the install and the customer was happy with the work carried out. We also provided on-site training and informed the customer of their requirements as the owners of the CCTV system.
PMC had this to say about our work:
“PMC have been very happy with the work carried out by Realm. From the initial design/proposal stage, up to the installation and commissioning of the new system at our Bannermill development, Realm were involved at every stage and made the whole process seamless.
Our owners are appreciative of the works completed by both sides in order to provide a modern system that has improved the security at the development, giving the owners peace of mind.
PMC looks forward to continuing working with Realm in order to keep our developments safe.”
