Benefits of having CCTV

Intruder alarms provide a level of protection which is more than enough for many people, but for others, it’s CCTV that offers them the security they are looking for. With a CCTV security system, it’s as if you are continuously watching over your property every minute of the day. The mere sight of a CCTV camera acts as a visual deterrent that’s proven to make intruders, burglars and vandals think twice about approaching your property. Home security cameras mean that threats to your home or your loved ones are always in view. From seeing who’s at your front door to spotting possible intruders in alleys or bushes, a home surveillance camera offers a complete view of your property.

While a well-designed Intruder alarm provides a sufficient level of protection for many businesses, CCTV can add an additional level of security where this is required. A CCTV camera also acts as a visual deterrent that is proven to make intruders, burglars, and vandals think twice about approaching your property. Home security cameras mean that threats to your home are detected and recorded, and that you can easily determine whether your loved ones are safe. From seeing who is at your front door, to spotting possible intruders attempting to gain access to your property, a home surveillance camera offers complete piece of mind.

CCTV Monitoring

Remote monitoring is the most effective form of business and site security for deterring intruders. Realm Fire & Security can pre-empt a break-in by monitoring your CCTV system remotely, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Wireless/Pan Tilt and Zoom Cameras

PTZ (or pan, tilt and zoom) cameras can make a 360-degree sweep of the environment, change angles to look at objects both above and below the camera, and zoom in to give objects greater detail. These cameras are used most often in surveillance situations where remote viewers can track subjects.

IP and Wireless Cameras

An Internet protocol camera, or IP camera, is a type of digital video camera commonly employed for surveillance, and which unlike analogue closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras can send and receive data via a computer network and the Internet. An IP camera is a networked digital video camera that transmits data over a Fast Ethernet link.

Face and Number Plate Recognition CCTV

Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) is a mass surveillance method that uses optical character recognition to read vehicle registration plates. ANPR can be used to store the images captured by the cameras, as well as the text from the license plate, with some configurable to store a photograph of the driver. Systems commonly use infrared lighting to allow the camera to take the picture at any time of the day or night.

Many businesses now use ANPR cameras as part of their access control system. It is commonly used for car parks, allowing efficient parking management, logistics, and VIP or priority customer recognition.
